Comments: I have listed the above unit in memory of my Daddy. He passed away March 18, 2015 after celebrating his 83rd birthday.

He served during the Korean War on the LST 1148 USS Sumner County. With the help of the Navy Color Guard we remembered him with honors.

He was very proud of his service to his country. He was sent an honorable letter from the Korean War Honor Flight.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an honorable member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Lions Club, and the Saturday Bass Anglers. After serving in the Korean War he worked for AARMCO steel company and was retired early. He spent the remainder of his years fishing and hunting.

He will be missed.
