Comments: My late father, Glenn Mallery, served on LST 1006. I have some photos and The History of the USS LST 1006 (through summer of 1945), as written by the executive officer Lt. C.L. Harkins and R.R. Shock as assisted by other officers on board. I would be happy to e-mail my scanned versions to anybody interested.

Comments: I am looking for information and photos for my wives grandfather. His name is Joseph Interlandi and he served onboard the LST 1006 from 44 - 46. I'm happy to report that he is alive and well living in Connecticut.

I sat down with him the other day and he told me about his tours in the pacific from the landings at Leyte gulf to Okinawa and the repatriation of the Japanese after the war.

I know this is a Korean War message board, but I started reading the names and he recognized many of them, so if there is anyone out there who could send any info or photos, I know he would greatly appreciate getting back in touch with many of his shipmates.

Thank you very much

Comments: My father served on the USS LST 1006 from 1944 until 1946. I am looking for any shipmates of his that served at the same time. My father's name is Herbert E. Pollard. He was the cook. I have a few pages of the voyage of the LST 1006 that had been published and edited by J. Larounis and R. Shock. It is entitled "Sweepers Man Your Brooms" and dedicated to the Little Black Dog.

Comments: My grandfather was abord this ship. There was a book written about the voyage along with photographs of the entire ship and what it went through. Any information on obtaining another one would be greatly appreciated, for his original one was lost. Not sure if it was the lst 1006 or 1002. Thank you.
