Comments: I just wanted to drop a word to all you veterans out there that served with "Mighty 65th" that we are STILL the best damn engineer's to grace Uncle Sam's great army.
I served with Charlie Company 99-2002. Under 1LT Polk and SSG Reed. The training is still up to par, we trained atleast 6 hour's a day in every thing from stringing constantina wire to disarming mines.
I can honestly say that when it comes to the ultimate sapper, no other unit in the army comes close to 65th not even the 82nd..
God Bless All you vet's that made this a free country and the other's who kept it that way...
I would love to hear any stories about your expierance in war time combat, if interested email me.

Comments: My brother George and I were both assigned to the 65th around March of 51 and served out of Hq Company on detached service basis for our entire tour. George had a D8 bulldozer and I had a D4. I don't know where George operated nor did he know where I was most of the time. Worked with all units of the 25th as needed and some other Divisions and the Turks. If any one has memory of a D4 chugging around digging in artillery, halftracks, making bunkers and rebuilding and cutting roads - it may have been me. I'd like to hear from any one on this. Would like to have access to the H and S Companys daily reports to find out where I was assinged if there is any record.
My best to all of you survivors and prayer for thoes who did not make it home. It was just yesterday.
