He was a mechanic and there are pictures of broken tanks and trucks in the lot of pictures that I have. If anyone served with him, would like to know more about where he and you were and what he did there.
Thank you.

Comments: In 1952 I went to the punch bowl area of Korea where I was serving in the 116th Combat Engineers 10th Corp. I arrived there in either October or November and was nineteen years old at the time. I was a cook as well as a first gunner. We built bunkers for the infantry. We also guarded the mountain pass.
Around March to April I was transferred to the DMZ where I cooked and building a road down to the reservoir. I went from 52 degrees below to the monsoon rainy season where we were in mud up to our knees.
If anyone in my unit sees this, please contact me at the e-mail address provided.

We set up camp to build Bailey bridges communications and roads South as Escape routes. Our infantry which bathed in our steams in May was replaced by ROK infantry, which after a month or so, eventually retreated and left the front lines, leaving us unprotected from attack, The Marines were then helicoptered in to protect our position. If any one recalls this incident contact me please, and thank you

Some of them I surpress deeply, others I have begun to share with my family, more so now then ever before. My wife and I, visited the Korean War Veterans Memorial a few years back. We are going on our 60th year of marriage. My daughter, told me about a man, she saw post a cardboard picture on Facebook, stating he was looking for a Hank Hoffman, from the Korean War, 16th Division. So, from that, my daughter has decided to help me find if any of my old buddies.

Comments: My father, Richard Stover served in Company C, 116th Combat Engr Battalion during the Korean War. His service dates were May 22, 1951 Jan. 29, 1953. Richard received his Basic Training and Leadership Training at Ft. Belvoir, VA, May Dec. 1951. He shipped out of Ft. Stockton, CA in Dec. 1951 to Sasebo, Japan.
Richard was known as Dale to most people. Dale passed away in Oct. 2009 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Dale had attended the 1995 Korean Veterans reunion held in Virginia Beach. Each year, he receive the newsletter about the reunions. This year, when I recd the invitation to the reunion, I began to wonder about those relationships Dale had made during his time in Korea.
Dad spoke often his job of building roads and bridges just behind Heartbreak Ridge. Those roads and bridges would allow supplies to be delivered to the front line. Dale was from a small town in Oklahoma and was a newlywed when he was shipped out to Korea.
If you have any recollection of meeting him and would be interested in relaying that information to me, I would ever so thankful.

Comments: Hi, my Dad was William (Bill) Munn from Stoneham, MA. He passed away in 2001, but before he died he pulled out a bunch of photos he had from the Korean War. One photo is a portrait in uniform, signed on the back by Robert J. Carpenter. There are several pics of his fellow squad truck drivers, but the only 2 names he could remember were Charlie DeMay and Bob Woodward. There are also many photos of maneuvers, Korean villagers and prisoners, etc., which I cherish because they tell a story of my Dad's experiences. He was pretty sick by the time he brought them out; and until that day I never knew he had them, nor did he previously talk to me much about his service.
If you served w/ my Dad, or you are a relative of the above mentioned and would like to check out the photos of the guys, please reply. I would love to be able to share the photos with you. If you served: Thank you for your service. God Bless You.
Thanks, Lisa

I would like to know stories or information that anyone could tell me about my dad. Sadly - he passed away 6 years ago but we all had a great life together. I remember several years ago he helped to organize a reunion for the battalion which was held in Ashton and Island Park, Idaho. His name was Donald Gunter - a great guy in my eyes. I am his youngest daughter and spent every waking minute trailing behind my daddy (which I still called him up to the end). It would be nice to be able to provide some stories and info to my two children about their wonderful grandpa - especially my daughter who was only 5 when he died. My son was able to spend a great deal more time with his grandpa but my daughter is so interested in the stories of her papa and recognizes the Korean vets at school each year when Veterans day comes around - right up at the top of the list are her grandpa and uncles. If you served with him, please let me know if you can tell us anything. Thanks

Comments: I am looking for a history of where Co B was, when, and mainly what we were doing. Elswhere in this link I have listed the plces we were at during l951 to Jan 1952.--
I remember when we were there a couple of times that Capt Cunningham remarked he had been informed that we were doing an outstanding job hauling at one time more loads than trucking Co. even thou we had only 16 trucks, must have been in May of 51 when we hauled ammo one way and gravel the other + other work well I sure hope this gets some response
