Both my father (Buck) and my other uncle (Ken) would both like to end their search for their brother. I will continue to search myself on their behalf. If anyone has information on my Uncle Chuck, please contact me.

Comments: Today marks the 56th anniversary of the date that the 34th Inf received the alert to go to Korea. I was with the 1st Battalion, Co. D, at the time. We were on manuevers at Ona Maru when we received the word to return back to Camp Mower. Soon after our arrival, we were all issued our weapons, ammunition, etc. The word was that the North Koreans had invaded South Korea the day before and that we were being sent over there. That when the North Koreans saw us, they would turn around and go back home. Yeh, right!! By the end of August, after 1,900+ KIA, WIA, and MIA, the 34th was deactivated. Those of us left out of the 1st Battalion were sent to the 19th Infantry Regiment to form their 3d Battalion. And the conflict continued.
I left there in April 1951.

Evacuated to Japan and then home after lose of my leg.
I have been trying to find the family of Richard Gray who was from Oldham County, TX so I could finally tell them how Richard died.
