Comments: A friend asked if I could find the name of a young Soldier who was only
14 years old in 1950 when he was fighting along side the Wolfhounds in
of 27th INF, B co. in 1st BN. If anyone remembers his story or knows his
name it would be helpful. He was said to be fearless and left the
company kicking and screaming as the MPs drug him away and sent him
home!

Comments: Like to hear from anyone who served with my father, Carl
Edgar Fisher of Ponca City, OK. He is well and living in
Breckenridge, CO. I am researching his military years
and know he was one of the lucky who survived. He does
not talk about it much other than the time he was wounded
by a Chinese machine gun, ignored orders to leave,
returned fire with all his and fallen infantryman'ammo.
He was amused to get a silver star for disobeying orders.
Thanks, Carl Jr.

Comments: Looking for any information someone can give me about
the 29th infantry regiment 3rd battalion during the
Korean War. I was told they could have been attached to
the 27th Infantry Regiment while in Korea. My dad,
James Matthews was in Okinawa in
1949 and went to Korea in June/July 1950. Was in the
battle at Hadong and then his unit was placed with
other units since most of the men were KIA or WIA.
I have no idea what company he was with but would like
to find out any information about what battles his unit
was in or where I could find out more information about
unit history during Korean War.

Thanks for your help,

Comments: I am trying to find anyone who served with the 27th
Wolfhound Regiment in 1950 in Korea with my father,
Charles (Charlie, Chuck) Traver. Before he was sent
to Korea, he was stationed in Japan and helped found
an orphanage with the other soldiers in his regiment.
I believe he was a machine gunner, fought at Taegu,
was involved in "The Bowling Alley" and several other
battles in 1950. He contracted malaria in the summer
and frozen feet in the winter. He has spoken of Sandy
Spicer through the years. Recently, I have learned of
his heroism and became aware of the several medals he
earned during the war. He is in poor health and any
info would be helpful in raising his spirits.

Comments: My name is Christopher Pearcy and I'm looking for information on my Grandfather, Marvin Charles Pearcy. He was usually known as Charles because of his dislike for his first name. I'm pretty sure I got his regiment correct, the Wolfhounds because I remember seeing his commemorative zippo cigarette lighter that has the regimental logo on it. Apart from that, I don't know too much because all my information has come primarily from my father, Charles Pearcy, who isn't too sure about some things. I know my grandmother, Elizabeth Pearcy, still hears from individuals in the VFW, American Legion, and those involved with Korean War Associations about upcoming events. Still, I would like to know more about my grandfather seeing as how he most unfortunately passed away five days before my first birthday. Thank you for your input.

I have his DD 214s however they do not provide adequate information for us to properly create a citation. I am looking for help, to at minimum find out the name of one or more of the battles he was involved in. The DD 214 with these awards covers the Period between 23 JAN 1950 and 23 JAN 1953. Form states wounds received 3 AUG 1950. SM name is Ruben Espinoza, only units indicated are HQ and HQ Company 27 Infantry and HQ Btry 560th FA BN. HE entered as a CPL and was released as a SGT (T.) Comments: My father has recently become interested in researching his medals from his Korean War service. He has never been interested in discussing his service in the past...he received the Bronze Star, Korean service medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, United Nations service Medal,
His name is John Casey did anyone serve with him or have any record of these honors...we have hit a brick wall in St Louis due to the fire in 1973. Please email me with any info...thank you. He said he returned from the war with one other gentleman..his last name was Taylor

Comments: For the last several years my dad ha started telling me stories about his experiences in Korea. When the war started he was assigned to the 49th Ord Co in Japan and was on contact team missions to recover damaged combat vehicles. Returning from one of those missions he was stopped by a road block vic Taegu and was "drafted" by a 1sg who took his 3/4 t truck and made him a machine gunner. one of the things he has told me repeatedly is about raiding a ROK depot of some quad .50 machineguns cleaning them getting them into service and them being used to repulse NK attacks i'm assuming he's talking about the "Bowling Alley" timeframe. He says they/he killed thousands of NK's. I asked him if he was given any awards and he said no he was offered several times by the BN CDR but took promotions instead. I cannot verify that info from his DD214. I do know that the unit was awarded PUC and a ROK PUC and if I can verify he was with the 27th then I would like to know how to get those and any other awards he should or might have earned awarded to him. He does have the right campaign and UN awards for this time period. He is like all the other old soldiers and doesn't think this is a "big deal". I would also like to get any records or information about his time with the 27th if that is available. I do not have his service number but can get it this weekend since I will be visiting him. I know this is a long shot but I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Wayne Norton
