I am currently deployed on a second tour to iraq and would really like to know more about his service and engagements. He has talked briefly about the war to me only no other family member i know of. Comments: Though wounded himself, he refused aid and helped other wounded. Voluntarily organized and led an assault group made up of his mortar section to retake the over-run positions by the enemy. He personally led and directed fire of his assault group. Exploding shrapnel ended his couageous attack in the early hours of September 7, 1952 LET THEM HAVE NOT DIED IN VAIN.

Keywords: Sgt.More, known as Mel, was head of a Mortar section in the vicinity of MUNDUNG-NI, KOREA. For his extraordinary leadership he was awarded the DSC posthumously. He was a member of Co.G, 14th Inf. As a result of his actions, the enemy attack was repulsed and driven out of friendly positions.

His wife would like to tell her grand Childern about their grandfather and the awards he may have recieved. She gave me, one ribbon ( Ribbon had two bronze stars attach ) and his CIB. Comments: Im just looking for anyone who might have remembered my father. He was from Kinston NC. He passed away in Feb. 1986. I am very lucky to still have alot of his army records and photos. My father was transported to Korea on the US Naval Ship Marine Phoenix and landed in Inchon. He never talked much about his time in Korea but he was very proud to have served his country. He hated seeing the straving children in that country.When he was discharged he was a CPl (T)He was a BAR gunner. God bless all those who served in that conflict.

Comments: I am looking for soldiers: Frank Bymakos, Francis Hudson, Horace Freeman and Wm Patterson. All were signatories to Sgt.More's heroic leadership in retaking the hill, resulting in his posthumous DSC.

I an writing his biography. We were very close and I would like to memorialize his life. Please contact me if you knew him well, had personal remembrances.

I know he was in Korea in 54 as well as Japan. I was trying to maybe find anyone who might have known him then. I've been told there is a way to get actual morning reports so as to find service members names that were enlisted while he was and maybe contact them. one of his LT's was named Darrel D. Harrison and his Capt was Anthony F Cornetsky. Any Information would be nice, thanks.

He was in the korean war and all i know is that he walked across the yallow river with general mcCarther. he was blown up by a grenade and died 30 years later. my mother is older and her memory is bad.
