Comments: I was on inspection/training crew during conversion to
PCE-67 RCS Chu Yung. She served in Taiwan Navy until
decommissioned in 1998. After conversion, we became
training crew for the Nationalist Chinese Crew. They were
handpicked and a great crew.

Comments: Alvin was proud to serve his country. He was a plankholder aboard the USS Waxwing. "389" was his favorite number. He continued in securing Liberty and security for his country with his work for the Grumman Corporation for 26 years in the aerospace field. He pursued his love of all things nautical in his civilian life, owning several sailboats in succession from an O'Day Daysailer, to a 19 foot Mariner, to a 23 foot O'Day, to his last boat, the 34 foot Morgan "Sea Roar", his pride and joy. Alvin died 18 Oct 2003.

Comments: Is there no one from the Waxwing online? Other outfits have reunions and I see nothing about the Waxwing. I did once see a listing of a man from WW2 attempting to get the men from that era together. However, I belong to the USS Zeal Association that includes both WW2 and Korean Conflict vets.

Just a thought.
