Comments: I just wanted to let the crew members of the USS MINAH know that James B Sizer Passed this Christmas. He was my uncle and inspiration during my hitch in the navy. I know all you fellows kept in touch with each other, I wish the modern naval sailors did the same. Comments: My Duty Stations were mostly in the southern United States. Boot Camp was San Diego Naval Training Center San Diego California. Memphis, Tenn., Charleston S.C. Minecraft Base,Counter Measure Station Panama City Florida, Key Weast Naval Station, Brookly Naval Yard New York (For Re conversion)Newport R.I. (Looking for Depth Charges that didn't explode) (Didn't find any ) Norfolk Virginia, and Little Creek Virginia. It was quite an adventure Love to do it one more time with the same guys of course.
Keywords: "Dizzy" was a nickname I went by in Memphis . my Buddies were Melvin N. Harris, John Hansell, Bennie McConnell, there were a lot of others It was a time worth remembering. Was Discharged in Feb 1953 in Norfolk Va.

USS MINAH (AMC-204)
Name of a bird.
(PCS-1465; dp. 280; L 138'; b. 23'4"; dr., 8'7"; s. 14.1 k.; cpl. 54; a 1 3", 1 40mm., 4 20mm., 2 dct., 2 dcp., 2 rkt.; cl. PCS-1376)
PCS-1465 was laid down 17 June 1943 by Astoria Marine Construction Co., Astoria, Oreg.; launched 27 December 1943; commissioned 15 February 1944, Lt. D. L. Case in command.
Redesignated AMCU-14 on 7 March 1952 Minah proceeded to New York Navy Yard in April, one of 31 minesweepers to be converted. Local operations out of Little Creek, Va., and Key West, Fla., preceded a final redesignation on 7 February 1955 as Minah (MHC-14).
She engaged in projects of the Operational Development Force and saw service within the 6th Naval District before she decommissioned in Florida, September 1959. Briefly berthed with Atlantic Reserve Fleet, her name was stricken from the Navy list 1 November 1959. She was sold to William J. Kleb and removed from Naval custody 8 September 1960.
Minah (AMc-204) received one battle star for service in World War II.
