Comments: Served on board as the only Electricians mate after the Korean Police Action ended and remained on board until it was turned over to the Korean Navy in 1955?
Went from there to the Etlah AN 9 until discharged. The only names I recall are a Boat's Jeske and a Lt. Knofla?
Would like to hear about any reunions etc.

Comments: USS Curlew (AMS) Were YMS's during war, the "Y" for prewar funding, met person who did so. Tuna boat design with the sweep generator housed in the fish stowage area. Hull of white oak. We carried two 20mm and a 40mm weapons. So close to shore on Fly Catcher op we blew a train leaving a tunnel. Picked up shot down fliers in Wonson. After the summer of 1952, work was mostly at night. On Thanksgiving Day 1952, at Wonson on a deep sweep had close aboard hits almost sunk ship.
Keywords: Mine sweeping ops in North Korean waters. Three battle stars (or more). MineRon One."Where the fleet goes we've been" was motto. USS Curlew (AMS 8) modeled after Tuna Boats.
