Comments: In addition to looking for any fellow crew chiefs and pilots from Stanley 1995-
1996, does anyone remember the following:
1. The sub beaching and 2-2 providing avn support to hunt the commandos down
2. The first firing of a hellfire from an OH-58 that almost caused an international
incident
3. A night (date unknown) when the whole of Stanley (and some others) flew to
greaves with less than sober crews to pick up infantry and cross the border to
rescue civilians being killed by NK troops. I recall the ville being emptied of avn
personnel and upon arriving at the airfield, m-60s were being mounted along with
chaff in the boxes under turning rotors. (Asking because I'm probably
remembering it wrong). Someone remembers the truth I'm sure. I might be
combining two missions but its haunted me to this day. Otherwise I miss korea
great people and Stanley was huge for a plot of US territory in Indian country.
SFC Royal, SSG Dennis, SSG Speis, SGT Thomas, are a few names I recall.

Comments: i was stationed on the dmz of korea 2id 1st/31st infantry
my mos was infantry . i was north of the injim river
stationed at camp greaves . i was there from december
1972 ti january 1974. i guarded both hills oulette and
collier also the dmz fence line and point charlie where
we checked officers and rice farmers going in and out .
i also did over 50 night ambush patrols and exchanged
fire with the north korean patrols once in march 1973
and in june 1973 . i also received combat pay the whole
time and was in a combat zone. i was also awarded the
injim scout badge . after all these years i finally
decided to check my dd-214 and was very disappointed
with the missing information including the cib badge
which i thought i already had . so i wrote to get the
cib badge i was told i was entitled to years ago, now ,
they turned me down because i have no records or
letters saying i was in the firefights. now, i am told
i have to have someone that was in my batallion write a
letter stating that i did have the firefights and it
must be notarized in writing to prove i am not lying .
so if there is anyone out there that served during the
time i was there that can verify that there were
several firefights on night patrol and can write a
letter and have it notarized i would greatly appreciate
it. after all these years and going to mental health
and being treated for nightmares and flash backs
instead of ptsd they call it anxiety and depression.
anyone that has been on the dmz knows how dangerous it
was and we also had to hear those loud speakers the
north korean radio stationed used to mess with our
minds. it sure did mine. so anyone on the dmz between
december 1972 to january 1974 who knows of the several
firefights please let me know so i can prove i earned
the cib badge . i already thought i had it but as ya'll
know once your north of freedom bridge a small
encounter wasn't ever reported because we were told we
weren't supposed to be north of the injim river . well.
i was and thought several times i was goning to die
when everyone started shooting. if you can help let me know
