Comments: Graduated 7 April 53 rank of 2nd Lt AUS. Retained by TES as instructor. Transferred to inactive reserve 22 January 1954
Class was unique. 41 total candidates, counting those released and those dropping in from earlier classes. 12 of us, all from original class graduated. Graduating class picture title Terrible 12 for a probably known reason.
Never to be forgotten moment. We were the senior class when General Van Fleet retired. I was regimental commander for the retirement parade. (Remember, the 1st Infantry was there.) We were flown into DC (Big entry) Formed up and passed in review. I think it was a final test the tac officer gave me. If I screwed up, it would have been in a big way. We made the turn in reasonably good fashion and I graduated. Never had the chance to command a regiment again.

66 classmates. Sixty-six graduated but so far I've
only been able to locate eight others. Three were KIA
in RVN and two are known to have passed away. I am
looking for any information that will assist in
finding the rest. Should you be able to refer me to
an organization that may assist or perhaps you know
of one of our graduates I would be happy to hear from
you.
Thanks in Advance

Comments: I did not make it through OCS (missed by one week), so it's possible that
no one will want to contact me, but I'm trying anyway.
After OCS, I got separated from active duty in 1953. I served in the active
reserves for six more years while attending first The Citadel, where I
graduated in three years with a BS in chemistry, the attended graduate
school at Clemson, where I got an MS in Organic Chemistry. I went to
work as a research chemist with Du Pont, retiring 33 years later as a
senior research chemist.
This is probably of little interest to my former OCS classmates, but I
thought I'd try anyway.

Comments: I attrended OCS after I served in Korea.
I was a Teague K2 when I traded two loads of gravel for a ried in a T33 jet. It was quite a thrill and a lot better that the tournodozer that I was accostumed to flying.
I was promoted from Cpl to SFC while in Korea and was in charge of the equipment Platoon. The Pltn Officer was in Japan in the hospital and Bars.
I remember working around the clock to put down PSP at Tague. ON July 4, 1952, the were 700 sorties from Kimpo (K14). we were reworking the Runway and had half the runway under construction.
we worked at night and the Sabre Jets used it during the day.

Comments: I was a Senior Tac Officer for 3 OCS classes from January 1952 to June 1953. I think I had Class 12 in B Company, then another class in B Company, and finally Class 55A in D Company. We were very proud of the graduates, most of whom went directly to Korea. Their training was very practical and the competition was intense. We were merciless in boarding out any who we thought might not be ready to hit the ground running. Does anybody remember the lively song "Double Timing" sung at the graduation party of one of the classes?
