Comments: Hello all, I am trying to find any information on my fathers service in Korea during 1953 and 54. His name was John J. Richardson and according to his DD-214 he served as Sgt (T) in the 54h Medical Detachment Helicopter Ambulance. He worked on the helicopters. I have very little information about this unit and would appreciate any and all information on it. I am putting together a memorial shadow box for his service and would like to find any relevant unit patches or job insignia for that detachment. I seen a 54th DUSTOFF patch looking around online but don't know if it is relevant. I just have very little to work with. Thank you for any help.

Comments: My father, Captain John Yarbrough, came to Korea in 1950 from Camp Fowler, Japan. He was in the Corp of Engineers and proudly wore the 1st Cavalry patch throughout his 20 year career in the U.S. Army. He died in 1981. Does anyone have knowledge of his service in the Korean war through contact with him there? Thank you.

I am 59 years old and am trying to put together all I can on my father for my two sons.
I have some photos with signs in the background for this outfit and some notes about Yong Dong Po.
Other than a few ribbons and medals from WWII and
korea I have very little. My father retired in 1964, had a military funeral at Ft. Benning and his ashes were later scattered at sea by the U.S. Navy.
