Comments: My father died when I was 4 years old. I just recently found out that he was in the korean war; not certain but beleive he was in the army. His name was Sidney Ray Osteen. He was from texas. Any information that I can find out would be very helpful. Suggestions on how I can find more info would be greatly appreciated. I do know he was wounded and had a bullet logged next to his heart which was left because removal was to risky.

Comments: The 533was one if not the smallest units in the us army, it
consisted of five men, two officers and three enlisted men.
the two officers were graduate engineers a capt. and a lt. the enlisted men were various ranks, but their specialties were enterpreter, graphic artis, photographer and mechanic.
since it was so small it was always attached to a larger unit for food and rations. The mission of the unit was with captured engineer equipment to dissiminate photgraph and entertrep to see if the captured piece was any better then ours, in some cases the material was shipped back to the states for further research.
