Comments: My dad was in this war, the Air Force, and I have been looking for 85th Troop Carrier Squardron to find a picture of eight jets, which is where he was. 1952-1953. I am very new with the internet and just can not find this picture. I have become quite interested with the Korean War and have read several letters. Thank you all for this site and if I could get some help on this I would be grateful. His name: Ralph E. Sorenson. Thank You.

Comments: Served in Korea 1953-53 as flight engineer C-46 cargo aircraft. Daily sorties involved mostly cargo delivery of ammo, weapons, personnel, and meal rations from Japan to Korea. Flew "rubber bag" mission from K47 to K10. Flew air evacuation picking up patients at K47 and flew them to K8 and K10. My second tour was at Osan Air Base 1963-64 as Aircraft Maintenance Line Chief. Made three visits to the Joint Security Area at the DZM. Attended as an official observer during conferences when United Nations and/or Communist called a meeting between the South and North Koreans regarding security area violations and fire fights. It is sad that the war is not yet over and we are still at war with a half century political armistice. Since WWII our leaders have denied the military the where with to win wars. The United States government political SNAFU's denied winning wars beginning with the Korean War (they the politicians) called the killing of a generation of young Americans,a "police Action."
