Comments: My dad just passed away.He always talked about snatch n grab.. he was a trained as a Navy Seal of the 6th elite unit. His many stories of the ships he was on included the USS Walter B Cobb ADD106, the USS St. Paul, and a USS Talladega AP208. He enlisted in 1954- and served through 1961.
Would love to get in contact with someone that may have served with dad.

Comments: I served aboard the Cobb from April 1945 to July 1946. I
went to a few reunions and enjoyed them a lot. At one
time a fellow named T.S. Plough from Little Valley
N.Y.who I believe served during the Korean conflict
offered a 22 x 17 inch photo of the Cobb underway. I
would like to obtain a copy of the photo, if available.
I can be reached Thanks!

SO2 to sub school. REtired USN April l991. Special ops were thrilling but
scary as hell.
Looking for anyone off the Cobb that participated in the
beach recon of the East coast of Korea in 1956: on or near the38th

Comments: Just looking for some history of my father's ships and his shipmates. Daddy's past was always an adventure to me. He had some great tattoo's and I do have some old photos of his time on the Cobb. He was in UDT-27 aboard the W.B. Cobb in 1956. Left the Navy in the early 60's. I still have his old wetsuit and uniform.

Comments: After discharge in 1946 got sucked into joining inactive reserve. Although my hitch was uo, Congess extended my time and called me back, I always say it was because I did so well during WWII they wanted me again.
Instead of going back on an LST at Little Creek VA I was assigned to APD 106, they needed a rated electricians mate- that was me. My (drinking)buddy in the crew was James (Sidney) Biddle, who I kept contact with for all years up to 2005, when he passed away. In the crew I only remember a nice guy name "Woodie". who was so upset as he was going bald... My final hitch wouldhave expired when the ship was well at sea on the Med cruise, The Capt kindly let me off to go back home.
Keywords: Originally on LST 998, participated in invasion landings in Philippines, Iwo Jima and Okinawa, interesting LST duty in China.
