Comments: Hi, I am looking for anyone that served with my father, Elmer Lee Pippin in the 1950 time period on the USS Noble. He would have been known by Bill or Sonny probably. I believe he drove a landing craft. Dad never talked about his service, and he died in 1978 when I was 21. I recently received the last known records from the National Records Center and there were no details. He was medically retired with a permanent physical disability in July 1951 at 19 years old. Why? I never knew he had any injuries. Thank you.
