He was a 1st Lieutenant in Korea with the 89th M Tk Bn and wounded on january 4 1951. He passed away in 1977 in CA.
Does anyone know the action he was wounded and has a picture with him? Are there any buddies who served with him in Korea? Did he ever mention a tank accident in Luxembourg when a tank felt from a bridge? Please help.
Thank You!

Comments: I am trying to write a family memory book regarding my uncle Duane
"Fritz" Place who kia on 9/5/52 on Heartbreak Ridge.
I have about 75 letters he wrote to my dad and uncle (both who died
prematurely of cancer) during the war and want to preserve his
memory.
I am looking for ANYONE who served with him 89th Tank Bn. or remembers him. Am really
seeking the medical records as the letter to my grandmother says he was
killed instantly but a buddy with him said that was not true-that he
died the next day.
HOW CAN I GET THESE RECORDS? (considering the fire in St. Louis?) He was a private, tank driver although he
was on guard duty when he was killed, not in a tank. I do
appreciate your help, I know you too have time limitations.
