Comments: Dad was in 25th Inf Div, 79 th Tank Bn. He was shipped to Korea in first week of
the war from Japan. It was hard on him, the numbing cold in Chosin. He was in it
from North Koreans pushing south, then McArthur invated INchon and cut the North
Koreans apart. The war was won, except for the idiot truman. The chinese came in
and we have missle boy now. Maybe our dead from Korea can have Peace now !!

Comments: We were to go to Japan when Korean War started, 30 June 1950. Dad was there 2nd
of week or the war, he endured Pusan pocket. He always said he would not be
captured regardless of what ever. He had seen too much of what the gooks had done
to captured GIs. He spent 1 1/2 years in country. I am proud of my old man, I
enlisted in 1960, two days out of HS. Proud army brat. PS gook means enemy.

Comments: Does anyone remember my uncle Vic Vincent who was in the 79th Heavy Tank Battalian (or the 29th Tank Battalian? I have newspaper clippings with it two different ways.) He was in the 25th Division in Osaka Japan.

One thing I know about him is he invented a devise for removing double pin tracks on heavy tanks and was cited for outstanding achievement.

Information wanted for family memoir.

Thanks!

Comments: My father served in Korea from 1951 to 1953 with the 89th Tank Battalion. I've read that it was assigned to the 25th infantry division but does anyone know if it was part of an Armored regiment during that time?
