Comments: My favorite uncle drove a Sherman tank the 140 tank regiment as best as I can piece together. He’s passed n didn’t talk about his service. I want to know mor le about his service. His unit received a bronze star for an attack on a railway gun or gun emplacement from what little I know. I do not know his rank or unit. All I know for sure is he drove a Sherman in the Cal national Guard. And won the bronze star or his “unit” did. Do not know if that’s company or div. or what but I would like to know. He was an amazing man and never spoke about his service. However I would like to relate to my children the roll there uncle tedd. Played in the Korean War. Can anyone help me find out more about him? His kids my cousins don’t know any more than I have related and my mom has passed as well so I have no one to ask.

A vital part of that history was the creation of the 140th Tank Bn in 1949 in the desert communities, its activation/ performance during the Korean War, and post war reorganizations.
This effort has resulted in a book that has reached a point where it is fairly complete. I decided to put the book on a website so as many folks as possible can read it at no cost. Here is a link to my site:
