Comments: My grandfather's name is Marshall Chaney. He was in the 73rd heavy tank battalion from july 1950 to October 1951. We have recently been discussing the Korean war and I thought it would be nice to locate some of his friends from there. If anyone would like to contact me or my grandfather you can send an e-mail to chris_p_chaney@yahoo.com.

Comments: For the life of me I cannot remember which Company I was in. I am going to search old records to help remember. I can only recall our Company Commander Captain Bell. Other names escape me but if someone give me names I'd probably remember. I arrived in Nov. 56 and left in Feb. 58. We were in Butler bldgs. Not a real fun place but had some good friends that I completely lost contact with when I left. I came across one this year on another web site that was not in the 73d. He and another friend of mine were in the 52nd Signal Bn, I Corps,Camp Red Cloud, in Uijongbu (may be wrong spelling but pronounced wee'shon'boo) South of Seoul. Ray Anderson and Cliff Mecklenburg. Cliff is the one I found I visited them once and they visited me once. I started as a Loader, moved to Dispatcher and spent the last month in the Security Personnel Platoon. The spot they put you as a short-timer before you left. Don't remember what are duties were and didn't much care since we would be going home in 30 days or less. Now looking for reminders and old buddies.

It does not take much effort to do this. If you can't talk about your experiences, then get a tape recorder or type it out. God bless you all.

Comments: I've been looking for info on the unit my dad (Atrhur Du Mont) served with while in Korea. Finally, found one but it's too late for him (he passed away 23 Jan 03). He never talked much about Korea except about a can of beans he put in the exhaust of his tank and it splattered someone behind him. I'd be interested in any stories or other info someone may have on or about him. I also have his citation for a Purple Heart he recieved. I'm proud of what he did and as an active duty member know some of what it's like. I've even been stationed in Korea- not even CLOSE to what my dad remembered. I took a video of the surrounding area and he was amazed at the difference. Thanks

Comments: My father, Chuck Manz, served with the 73rd in Korea from Aug '50 until Jan '51. He did his basic in Ft. Benning and finished his service at Ft. Knox. He had heard that Chaplain Stegman had been killed in action in Korea and it has always bothered him. If anyone knows, please contact me. He would also like to hear from any buddies who might remember him. Regards to all you brave souls that served. Regards, Lou Manz

Comments: I served with the 73rd Tank Battalion from late 1950-1952. I was sent to Japan due to an eye injury for a couple of months and was sent back to the 73rd. I drove Ammo and Fuel to the Tanks.

It is hard for me to remember names. I am a life member of the VFW-American Legion-Amvets-DAV- and the Cooties.

I have volunteered at the VA for over 12 years, I enjoyed every moment of visiting those deserving Veterans.

If anyone knows me by my name or the crazy things I did in Korea, please write me back through my Email addresss: Thanks, Ray
