Missing in action, last known position 20 miles east of Chunchon. November 1951, was declared Killed in Action. I never had the opportunity to know my father. I would appreciate any information about him. If you knew him or flew with him, I would love to hear anything you could tell me about him.

Comments: We are writing in concern of information containing on the planes flown by Daniel James Jr. during this time.. Mr. James is historicaly known for his completions within the Airforce but also for stressing the issues of qualities of determination and sincerity, arguing that performance, not skin color, was how a person should be judged. He was the first Black 4-star general in American History. To the men and women who served with him, we would like to salute you all.
Any information of his history would be gratefully appreciated, esp. info on his planes and missions. thanx

Comments: My father, Don Reich (Donald Paul Reich, 1923-1975), was a pilot in WW-II and the Korean War. As a child, I asked him what he did in the military. He said that he flew Air Force P-51s in these two wars, and when asked for more details, he would only elaborate with "the P in P-51 means pursuit." I have long admired my father as I knew him, and these planes.
He had a few souvenirs from the Foxy Few, a T-shirt and a set of mugs, both emblazoned with a cartoon fox wearing the fur-lined leather headware of a military pilot, and a P/F-51 with a big set of teeth painted on the front. As a child I associated the big open mouth on a "fighter" plane with the Flying Tigers. I still don't know if he was associated with them.
I have a grainy video, copied from some old film reels from his gun camera, while strafing and firing rockets. The film has F-51 and the mission date at the bottom of the frame.
I am searching for more info on the Foxy Few (I will try to find a reference to the military designation and update this comment).

Comments: Thank you for reading this.
I am trying to locate any information - especially any friends of my dad, James D. Heath who flew for the 12th FBS in March, 1951. If you knew him or have any pictures, diary references, ... , anything that could help me to know something about him, please email me at:
jheath53@yahoo.com
Here is a summarized report of his last mission:
====================================
My dad, Capt. James D. Heath was last seen flying wingman to Capt. Wendell D. Miller flight, leader of "Migrate Yoke", on a two plane (P-51) armed reconnaissance mission. The two separated to pursue separate targets and Capt. Miller lost radio contact with my dad. He began an aerial search and after a short time called in another group, "Migrate Queen", to help with the search.
They did locate aircraft wreckage that was scattered over 600 - 800 feet. There were no large pieces of the aircraft and no signs of life. Running low on fuel, they were forced to fly back to their base. No ground search was ever made.

Comments: Trying to locate anyone who knew my father or
Lt. Ramon Rodrick Davis who was flying with on Sept. 3, 1950. According to information I have typhoon "Jane" was crossing over Japan that morning. My father was flying "ATCH."
He was part of the 20th Weather Squad. He was bouncing all over the place over there from June 27, 1950 to the day he was lost. He mentions quite a few names in the diary that was returned with his belongings.

Comments: I was surprised to see a web site dedicated to the 12th Fighter Bomber Sqadron (Korea) "Flying Tigers".
I had hoped to see some photos taken during the Korean War. I still have in my possesion, photos of our aircraft, some enlisted men, and myself. I also have a "Foxy Few" patch.
I was honarably discharged as a Staff Sargeant in Oct, 1955 from George A.F.B., Victorville, California. At that time we were using the North American F-100's (Super Sabres). In fact, if I remember correctly, we were the first Super Sonic Sqadron in the U.S.A.F. - The 436th Ftr Day Sq.
