Comments: What a delight to read these entries, in particular those from Col. Casey's daughter and Sharon Bibb. I have heard your names since I can remember and Col. Casey and his wife are my Godparents!! Sharon, My mom remembers your father and your mother well too. I was born at the AB (Dad was an F-86 pilot) in February of 1955 and nearly died due to a stomach issue. USAF surgeons saved my life and in that my future was pretty bleak I was baptized early (in the hospital) with the Casey's as my Godparents. I have some photos of those times that my mom, Maria, has treasured (we lost my dad in 2005). I retired from the USAF in 2009 (couple of deployments to sandy places in twenty years and I now work for the VA.) Both of my sons are USAF Captains, one a C130 navigator the other a Nuclear Missile guy. Strangely, possibly due to a fondness for the name, or an ancient memory, our daughter's (a law student) first name is Casey....how appropriate. Bless you all, it was hard to keep my eyes dry reading your names and remembering how fondly my folks always thought of your fathers (and mothers). Another couple was always mentioned by my parents, Bill and Bobby Shiner. Please feel free to contact me. by personal email is chippewa7377@outlook.com

Comments: My Dad (Robert William Casey) was with the 44th in 1944
at Clark. I just found a photo album of family, pilots,
friends, etc. the year we were there. Would love to
share any photos with anyone - lots of them and many
pilots identified. I have pictures from Kadena in 1955
and the 44th and 67th, too. My Dad has Lewy Body
Dementia but he lights up when he looks at photos of
that time - he enjoyed an air show last year, too.

Comments: My grandfather, Major Lindsey Fletcher Smith, was a pilot in the 44FBS in 58-59. He was stationed in Tripoli, at Wheelus AFB after that. He was awarded a Silver Star and a Distinguished Flying Cross in the 60's. Im hoping to find someone with any info on this time period. He is gone now, and I never got any stories out of him. I would also like to find a Vampire Bats patch from this period.

possible 44 FS reunion for 2010, tentatively to be held
in Las Vegas. Is there any sort of 44 FS organization
already in place? Other fighter squadrons I've worked
with in the past had some sort of alumni organization.
This would greatly help me, as I try to help them.

Comments: My father was Raymond E. Stallins and flew fighters with the 44th at Clark between fall '51 and summer '53, I think. I am trying to meet people who either knew or flew with my dad then, or can tell me more about the aircraft that were available at Clark during those years. I have many clean color photos of various F80s and one photo of what appears to be a parking field full of P-51s. However, I have no way of knowing whether my various photos all represent the same time period.

Please reply to curtisstallins@yahoo.com if you are interested in speaking with me some time about your recollections of Clark; how I might meet someone who knew or flew with my dad; what kinds of aircraft were flown then; etc.

Thank you for any help you can offer,
Curtis Stallins
