Comments: My fiance is looking for information regarding his father and uncle who were both served in the Korean war-CPL Howard M Parker. Army unit 8232. Died in Korea, his body was sent home to Maine.
His brother had also served during the Korean War- Henry Coleman Parker from Maine. Henry,my fiance's father never talked about his brother or any war history with him. Now that he has passed his son would like any information regarding Henry and Howard Parker. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Comments: Arrived ca Mar 31 - Apr 5 1952 just as Treaty was taking place. Rioting by Commies ensued. There was a loud-mouthed full bore commie in the unit, and I have kicked myself for not smashing him and reporting him to the MPs or whomever. I remember a Cpl Martin Earhart of Wytheville, VA,(I was from Pulaski, VA), Jerry Rinaca of Baltimore, a Webb of Chattanooga. Moved to Hardy Barracks, then to Camp Tokyo. Ret'd to US just as Korean War ended in 1953.
I'm 89. Anybody from those units still alive?

Comments: In 1954 I was the small arms corporal in the quartermaster
section, and was assigned to shoot with the competition rifle
and pistol team for the 8232 Headquarters unit. Six of my
friends and I fooed a stage band that played the enlisted and
officer clubs. Our pianist was Dink Seigel, but I can't recall
names of the other five instrumentalists. One of my roommates
was Mack Magaha, a phenomenal fiddle player, who fooed a
country and western band in Tokyo, and later, in the U.S.,
joined Porter Wagoner's band.

Comments: I am interested in discovering which shoulder patch would have been worn by a member serving in the 8232 AU, Tokyo during the Korean War. Does anybody have any knowledge of this unit, or perhaps know where I can find out more?
