Comments: My Dad served in Korea for 21 months and was discharged around January 1954. He served with 8202nd and then from Oct 1953-Jan 1954 he served as a Teletype Equipment Mechanic. Dad says this was his three month break from the infantry before he returned home.

He has no pictures from his time served. I was just shooting in the dark hoping maybe somebody knew him.

He left as a Corporal. William Griffiths SR from Willisville, IL. He was discharged from Ft.Sheridan, IL.

Keywords: Sometimes people referred to him as Big Red because he was a tall, broad man and had red/strawberry blonde hair.

Comments: When my dad returned from Korea, I was too young to talk to him about what his life was like. he passed away years ago and I'd like to know what he faced and what his life was like.All I have is a Certificate of Commendation from Major General Paik in Yup of the ROK dated 3 Sep 54. Says that Dad was advisor to the 28th Infantry Regiment ( ROK). Thanks for any info.
