Comments: Hello, I'm trying to find out more information about my grandfather's experience during the Korean War, and also recognize him to receive the appropriate medals for his service. He's currently 94 years old and on home hospice, so I've been trying to learn as much as I can with the limited info I have. From what my father told me, he was a POW for over a year under the Chinese communists, as their group were surrounded and surrendered, otherwise they would have been killed. He was either captured or help prisoner in Inchon. I also have a picture of him, and per his shoulder sleeve patch, it's a triangle with red, Yellow, blue, with a 6, a lightning bolt, and tank wheels. My father told me he was Army Infantry Combat Division, and per his shoulder sleeve, the 6th Armored Division. If anyone has some information and insight they could share it would be amazing. Thanks.
