Comments: I'm researching my Dad's service in Korea with the 8th Army, 10th Special Service Co.
I've seen his pictures but he never talked about it so I don't have stories/details. His name was Virgil D. Sauls from Evansville, IN. He had red hair in those days.
He played the trombone and up right bass and did a lot of barbershop quartet singing in high school and after the war so he may have sang in USO shows as well as playing in the band. I do remember him telling me that he did a show with Mickey Rooney at some point.
I believe he was in Korea 1952/53. He did band training at Fort Riley, Kansas before going to Korea and spent some time near or in Seattle before deploying to Korea.
I'm looking for anyone who may have served with him, performed in shows with him etc...
Thanks in advance!
