Comments: We conducted S and R (search and recovery) of temporary
burials of combat KIA personnel on the North Korean
Communist occupied side. Each morning we checked into
the Panmunjom Headquarters on the DMZ to get pass to
go into Communist side to do our searching for remains
using our map overlay of battlefield site burials. We
of course had to give up our side arms, wear a yellow
arm band to signify we had permission to be on Commmunist territory side doing our work. We were guarded by Communist Soldiers with fixed bayonets. They would ask us for "tobako" (cigarettes). We were
restricted to answer, and communicate with them.

Comments: Hoping to contact anyone who might have been in this area from 1954 to 1956. My camp was about 10 miles south of the 38th. parallel and was the home base for all the visiting dignitaries, politicians, and high ranking military people. My job was to help maintain this camp so it was comfortable for these V.I.P.s Is there anyone out there that remembers this place? I`m sure there is a much fancier version of the camp there today.
