Any suggestions, advice and knowledge would be greatly
appreciated.
Blair recovered at Walter Reed Hospital and I have a newspaper article with a photo of Blair sitting and waiting to be honored by Winston Churchillat Walter Reed.
Thank you for all your efforts on the behalf of my brother Blair.

The battle was 20 miles north of the 38th paralell when the recon team was attacked with waves of Chinese charging forward as they sounded their charge with the bugle through the night. He and the recon patrol were in foxholes as they fought off the chinese.

Comments: My name is Larry Skaggs, formerly Cpl. Clifford LARRY Skaggs. I'm 80 now, turned 21 in Korea. Lately, my mind goes back more and more to the Korean 'Police Action' experience. Trouble is, my mind goes back, but my memory doesn't. It's a long shot, but maybe
some old guy I served with, or some old guy's kid or grandkid will read this, we can correspond, relive the time, and help to refresh my memory.
I was assigned to the post office, Hq 25th Inf Div in Osaka when we shipped to the Pusan Perimeter in mid July of '50. Immediately put in for a transfer to a line company. Luckily, got the 25th Inf QM Truck Co. instead. (Some personel clerk was smarter than I).
As I recall it, we served mostly various companies of the 35th Reg. hauling in replacements of men and material. Went from the far South of Korea to near Unsan, near the Yalu river, N. Korea.
After the Chinese hit, remember hearing from someone (the CO?) that we were surrounded. Never-the-less, I remember the retreat. I remember coming into a small valley and seeing a hugh, hugh bon fire: It was the supply of winter clothing that had never reached us, being destroyed so the Chinese couldn't get use of the clothing.
After we regrouped, a fellow named Sizemore, (Emmitt, (?) I believe, from W.(by god) Virginia ? but am not sure about that), were 'volunteered' to each take a truck back North in search of stragglers.
The only other two names I recall is a mechanic named Berhn or maybe Beran, ( from central CA.) and one man named Frick.
In July of '51, had earned enough points to rotate out....was one of the first in the Company to do so.
Prior to Osaka, was in Kyoto, I Corp Post Office. I remember a fellow named Hiley from Okla., and a Landsbury from N.Y. Met with both of them, (and others probably that I've also lost memory of), in Korea, they were in line companies of the 35th.
Thanks for reading,...and hope to hear from you. Larry

It includes his story before and after the war as well as enough history to allow the reader to know how the war started and why it lingered for over three years.
