He mentioned a Lt. or Captain Lehigh but that's really all I know. Dad had Alzheimers so this information is lost to our family. Thank you.

Comments: Greetings: It sure is nice to read all the e-mails from veterans and family members
who were stationed at Ashiya AFB during the Korean War. Our family was stationed
there between 1954 and 1957. I was 12yrs.old at the time and my father was a pilot,
flying C-119's. I'm doing research to find out what squadron he was in. I assume it
was either the 483Troop Carrier group or the 817.He was a lieutenant at the time
and nicknamed his plane after my brother and sister, Dennis-N-Denise,with cartoon
characters depicting their names. My fathers name was Lt. Mitchell Stefanski. We
lost him in an air collision while he was stationed at Manila AFB in 1965. I'm
trying to replicate his plane to honor his memory. I thought it would be great to
pass down to his grandchildren and great grandchildren after I'm gone. If there is
anyone out there who would know if there were any special markings for either of
the two squadrons I would like to know. I'm trying to replicate the model as close
to the original as possible. Unfortunately, the only picture I have of dad's plane
shows my brother and sisters insignia. God bless any and all who have served or are
now serving our country in the armed services.

engaged in military actions at Slapton Sands, Normandy, Belgium and Germany until the end of the war. Returned in 1949 Germany to a Supply Depot as 2nd. Lte..my mother, sister and I joined him there and we lived there 2-3 years.
Dad had a relationship that resulted in the birth of possible twin boys, whose mother wrote to my grandfather Denver Hulett at Melbourne, Arkansas after his 1946 discharge. My father contacted the family in 1983-1984 and was advised to not contact the boys, their mother had married and the stepfather had adopted the boys. Comments: My father, George Walter Mikloczak, Sergeant First Class, Regular Army, passed
away on July 13, 1989. My stepmother gave me his briefcase with a lot of his
personal papers and pictures from the Army.
My parents divorced in 1966 and it wasn't until the last four years of his life
that I had a relationship with him (and I treasure those days). I have a few
photos from his Army days but unfortunately no names or dates (or very sketchy).
He was honorably discharged in 1954 and in 1957; Bronze Star Medal in 1954 for
his Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations. He served in the Korean War
from February 1953 to April 1954 and was stationed in Ft. Hood, TX.
I was born in 1963. It appears he first enlisted in 1948 and his Army career
ended in 1967. I have not recently studied all his papers or put them in order.
He was a radio operator and his last 'job' listed is a Radar Mechanic.
He served in Okinawa as well and on the front of his personal folder is listed
1st Infantry Division 10 Jul 48, 30th AD Brigade are the signatures of (as best I
can read) of 1. Mitsukee Higa; 2. Sadake Lohama; 3. SSG Elex L. Saiz; 4.Sgt. John
Latva, Marine Corp; 5. Sgt. Robert W. Keller, USMC; 6. Sgt John Cooh, USAF; five
names written in Korean (I believe) and PLT SGT SFCC Larence Kline.
He was also stationed in Panama (my sisters were born there - one in 1953 and
another in 1961). My brother and I were born in El Paso (1959 and 1963). I have
an (approx.) 8 x 7 photo of a Dinning in Ceremony. OSon A.F. Base Korea. First to
carry the National Colors, Feb 27 1965 (my dad is carrying the American flag). I
cannot find his Unit #. The papers I have of his span his career.
