Comments: My grandpa was stationed at the Rhine Engineer Depot in Kaiserslautern, Germany from 1950-1954. His name is Harry, but would likely be known as “Bud” or “Buddy”. I’m just curious if anyone may have a connection to him in anyway or even pictures from that time. He is 90 years old, but still remembers much of his time in the Army and has recently been sharing much of his experiences with me. He has many pictures from his time in service as well which I thought may be helpful to those of you looking for information on your own family members. He also met an English woman by the name of Monica B. Cooper while he was there and was curious about whatever happened to her once he returned to the states. Would love any information anyone has!

Comments: My father, Harry C Wannamaker 3rd, from Orangeburg SC fought in Korea but I’ve been unable to get his war information due to a flood in the warehouse storage facility.
I’m trying to find out what unit he was in and where he served. He told me he was a glorified office clerk when he won his Bronze Star, and was awarded him due to Orangeburg socio/political pressure. He had that sense of humor, self deprecating.
He was 5’11” , weighed maybe 150lbs(skinny), dark brown hair and blue eyes. He had been at Clemson before WW2, where he served in Patches 7th Army, in the 398th infantry division as a machine gunner who with his partner earned his first Bronze Star before fighting in the Bulge.
He died in 2009 leaving little personal info about either war. He was married and had a young daughter when he shipped out.
My hope is that there is still someone who does know who I’m talking about, and would be willing to share that information with me.
I’m 70 now, his after Korea baby girl, and love to learn about him, especially during this war. He did come down with something and was sent to Japan where he recovered. I know he shipped out from Texas, just don’t know which base, possibly Fort Hood.
With my greatest thanks,
Grier W Jepsen

Comments: This may help a lot of you in search for answers:
The army was pushing to the Yalu to release a special asian/American combat team into China. The plan was to reignite the Chinese nationalist n severe supply lines with guerrilla tactics. The Chinese volunteer army paid nothing or very little and we were going to liberate them, bring peace to China and give them a seat at the un . There was nothing normal about these men who fought in the chosen. My grandpa said there was so many Chinese the first night the commanders had to free their men from the chinese before they could fight them. They ordered the soldiers on a bullhorn to stay inside their tents and fight below 2 ft. Then shot the tents up. Those men were ordered to carry an offense attack for several days without warm up tents. See congressional hearings on Faith's death (senator Cain).
You should all be so honored so little info is available because what these men were doing put their families in danger for several generations and they sacrificed their honor for it. I remember my grandpa's brother saying they kept calling the state department to privatize their files for safety reasons. State department finally said they figured out a way to take care of it. Should also know Japan had defeated Russia and China prior to WWII and had claim over all of Korea until defeated by us.
Soon after Japan's defeat, Russia n China seized all assets in the north and ordered extermination of all life n resources that could sustain it (genocide) in the south. Russia was going to start another world war with Europe n japan. hoping to keep us out for awhile using China n Korea but it back fired. They found evidence east Germany was funding north Korea and north Korea was collaborating with the intent to keep us busy while war was reignited in Europe.
If you know the true story you can see everyone involved in defending south Korea is a war hero and should be honored as such. See Christmas cargo and the spiritual n historical connections between suril Japan and the Korean chosen reservoir (star of kotori).
Looking for any info on "Bert" "Bill" or "Roni Blank and why I grew up seeing a picture of Colonel Faith on my grandmas dresser.
I remember "Bert" was giving me the man talk as a kid. He said "your a little young. Are you going to know what to do with all of this?" I said probably not. He said "I thought so." He said they didn't have radios always but didn't need them they used several methods to communicate. One way was to hide messages in a messenger n put a lock on it. It can be dangerous and takes two specialists but lucky for me we had two. They gently pushed on my neck and twisted my head while taking measurements and calculating heart beat then released the blood flow. Some of the talk I can still remember verbatim 20 years later.
