Comments: I'm writing from the Fortuna Depot Museum in Fortuna, CA. We are researching a gentleman named Raymond Quincy (Ray or R. Q.) Mills, 1934--1967. He served as an officer of the Fortuna Police Department and was, tragically, killed in a hit-and-run automobile accident on March 12, 1967 (becoming the first and, I believe, still the only Fortuna PD officer to be killed in the line of duty). His grave marker states that he was PFC 42 Trans CO TC, and newspaper articles on his death state that he served in the Korean War. However, we do not know when he served, or any further details of his service, and we are attempting to add that information to our knowledge of his life. I am hoping to learn more about when the 42nd Transportation Truck Company was in Korea, any details about the company's service there--and, of course, it would be an absolute best-case scenario to be able to make contact with anyone who knew Ray Mills during his army service.
With many thanks,
Alex Service

Comments: I am searching for veterans of the Korean on behalf of a Korean War era "houseboy".

Then known as Kim, Chun Soo, he worked with LT Wood from 50 - 52. He is also searching for CPT George L. Fountain, CPT Richard L. Forehand, and LT Symson.

These men may have been in the 69th Transportation Truck Battalion?, the 42nd Transportation Truck Company, the 46th transportation truck Company, or the 74th Transportation Truck Company.

Mr. Kim has recently retired from a career as a high school principal and would like to get in touch with the men who helped him as a young houseboy.
