William W. Smith as told to Charlotte Smith
The author is from Rockingham, North Carolina, and from a farming family in the produce business.
The book centers on his experience in Korea and his capture and imprisonment in 1950. He and his wife spent many hours going over the painful experience of the harsh treatment and internment. The work was often raw with emotion but the intent was to depict the conditions of a POW in the Korean War.
