Comments: A little while Back I ask for helping finding a trooper. I found him and also made contact with his old Plt ldr. Its funny after all these years finding these people. The cold freezing nights on patrol while sweating yourself silly. Never trusting dirt paths unless covered with good old fasion concreat!! The fun times and thinking was I ever that young. Being able to serve with a family member and all these years still laugh at the same stories even though we can't get all the old names right. Just leave a note if nothing else but to say "I remember"

Comments: Comments: I am writing in regards to CIB badge. I was on the DMZ with my Cohort Regiment brothers. We rotated in From Ft. Lewis during the time described. I was on the DMZ during one very cold winter. We truly thought the balloon was going to go up when the Panmunjom incident occurred. One of my unit members Clp Butoff's brother was shot in the arm during the incident. He came out of it OK from what we heard. I am still amazed that the bouncing betty 's were exposed on the trail to the 128 tower I spent many hours on. Some claymore mines vanished at that time period. The DMZ caught fire and I still remember it glowing in the dark. I have Team Spirit Red wind breakers with Black unit stitchery for winning the Inf. Tactical Team competition NBC / Recon. It still makes me mad that they put the zipper in backwards. I served under Cpt. Feene, Platoon SSG Gurido / SSG Porter. My Team leader was Sgt Hoyal Hodges. What else do you need? Pvt. Erny found an unexploded pineapple grenade out there while on patrol. It kind of upset the folks in the debriefing tent when he pulled it out of his BDU jacket and put it on the table with the rest of the propaganda leaflets. I served from 1982-1987. I went to NTC in Barstow, re-upped there and finished as a 1/5th Inf. Bob Cat in Hi. If any of my Cohort Bros. are out there give me a heads up. This is a correction to the comments dated 7-26-2009. I have forgotten some things it's been 20 years. Watch out for BOGUS Reps, selling Bogus stories. Stay away from the YOBO.ChipYungKnee

Before deployment from Ft Lewis SPARK PLUG Kennard wrote the C Co song. The year the DMZ burned and the claymore was stolen. No drop in the amnesty box. Just a miss count. 7 Ft McLean the Indian scout. The barracks flooded, El Nino I think. guard post 128, Colure and Owlet shook and the killer road march back from the Z. We won the team spirit that year. SGT Hodges team leader, Bubba, Preston, and Berry pulling the stragglers Julio the crazy Petro Rican up the hill after a hard night drinking from the kettle. Good times full of hell raising. Testing the limits. Steel pots C rats and we still carried the M67 90mm in Ft Lewis. Still hear the choppers flying in after midnight. Chip Yung Knee C Co. The short round that landed right in front of HHC 1/9th orderly room and EOD digging up a DUD illumination round. Having young men I helped train at Fort Sam serve with me as line medics. I got to see 80% of these men to include myself be decorated for things that never saw the light of day in the "real world". I remember the flight surgen who was also our real MD loses his head when a jesus nut poped on a cobra he was making his flight pay time on. I remember wraping up his effects and as it was christmas time The gifts he had for most of us to include the gift he had for me. Remember the round eye female lab rat, alot of you had to go see, her and I became great friends and followed each other around the planted, lossing touch and again finding her and still great friends. I remember two turtles first night at Greaves getting drunk and following the sound of the NK music into a mine field by the club. one crawled off wounded and left a dead friend who we probed out the next day. A real good thing I had a cousin who was a MP in casey and getting free rides out around curfew time mama san get no overnight money from this medic lol.
