Comments: I have gone through the messages once more. Sadly the one where we clearly overlap had no email address? I was supply off/motor off/mess off/ wire pltn ldr, wire co, and later exec off, hq co, all 4th sign bn; later i was wire off & then detachment leader w/KMAG.
I recalled the motor sgt and some other items with our company but don't remember which company it was? I will be 86 in August.

He never spoke much about his time in Korea other than he was proud of his service.
I don't know where he was stationed while he was there but I'm always trying to find out information about my father's time there.
His name was Francis Charles Buck ( Bucky)

Comments: I got switched from an assignment in Japan to one X Corps, Dec 1953. Arrived
Tokyo, on to Ita Jima, on to Sasebo, to Inchon, Seoul, Chunchun, Karo-ri. All on
hold while there, then all turned over to become 1st ROK Field Army.

Keywords: Claim to fame? LOL. When CG Corps decided all hands needed to begin jogging, I
suggested our Wire units who were clambering up and down hills and mountains might
not need that. So, the HQ let us substitute The Army Daily Dozen each morning.
That was my contribution, besides getting the COs out of hot water re their
supplies when the IG inspected.

Comments: I made the amphibious assault at the Battle of Inchon in September 1950. As a member of the 4th Signal Battalion, Company A, I ran wires near the front lines for at least 14 months (my memory is not perfect) and was stationed in Japan for about six months before I finally was sent home. I went on to work in communications for RCA for 45 years in NYC and abroad before retiring in the NY suburbs in the 1990s.
During the war, my best friend was Elmer Soprano. I was sent home before him and lost the paper where I wrote down his address before I made it home. This is an image of Elmer that my grandson located online when I told him this story:
http://www.patriotfiles.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2364&size=big&cat=

Does anybody remember serving with myself or Elmer? I will be turning 87 in April, and I would love the opportunity to connect with anybody I knew, or even somebody I did not know who shared the same experiences. Who is out there?

My grandson helped me locate this website and type up this post.

Comments: I served at Headquarters Co., 4th Signal Corp during 1952 in the Cable section in Korea. I came across this site and wandered if anyone might still be around that served during that period. I was looking at an album of my Army days and ran across some pictures of my time there with names. Pictures with names include: Bob Croft, Leland Scott, Hank Pfiefer, Gene Walters, E.C. Jones, Ed Ratdke, Kenny Thomas, Jerry Rider, Jim Miller, Willie Hughes, Lonnie Gore.
I was drafted in Oregon, worked for Bell Telephone 20 years there, moved to Arizona, worked 20 years there, retired in 1983. Lost my wife of 53 years in AZ. made contact with a close friend of my wife, whose husband was at Camp Gordon with me in 1952, since deceased also. We all actually shared kitchen privileges off base in Augusta for 3 months while in Basic. I ended up marrying my wife's best friend and moving to Oklahoma where we presently reside.
If anyone of the names above are still alive, or relatives of, I would be glad to make contact with them. I am 85 years of age ,in good health, and we travel extensively

Served one month with 1ST Marine Corp.at Division
Headquarters, as their Carrier And Repeater Specialist,
possibly with my buddy, Bob LathAm from Huntington NY,
who I had gone through boot camp with at Camp Gordon,GA
and then Carrier And Repeater School at Fort Monmouth NJ.
After returning to our unit,we volunteered to become
Cooks, both became First Class Head Cooks, feeding about
150-200 troops per day.
Had dinner, along with about 150 other troops with
Debbie Reynolds on Dec 25,1952. Most of the touring
Hollywood stars, after doing their shows would eat with
Officers, but not Debbie. When an officer tried to
steer her toward his table, she, pointing to me, as I
was Head Cook that night, serving on line, said, No,
I'm going to stay here and help him serve troops. This
way, I can at least get to say Hi to each one.
