It is in Dubuque, IA getting together from September 16...activities on the 17th and 18th ...then farewells on the 19th. If you are interested and haven't gotten on our mailing list please get ahold of us. The deadline for reservations is July...so the sooner the better and we can get info to you. Even if those dates don't work out I am trying to get a complete list done for whoever puts it together in the future. Thanks.

I was going thru her pictures and found a picture from Korea...late 50's or early 60's. There are two posed pictures of a Christmas / New Year Party. Am looking for anyone who knew her...altho she sent me gifts from all over the world, she would never talk much about her work in the Army. (I also found a Army 40-year service pin...but not much else).
Would like to know more about where she was stationed, what she did, etc. Can anyone help?

Comments: I have "One if by Land" A pictorial Story of the 4th Signal Battalion in Korea.
It's like a high school year book. It has the different company, platoon, unit in it with photos. There are several other photos that accompany each unit.
Found my dad, Frank Martin and also found out that he was originally in "B" company and then transferred to "C' company.
It might help anyone looking for photos.
Email me and let me know and I'll be glad to look up the company and see if the photo is there.
God Bless the USA, our veterans and the service and their families that are currently serving.

Comments: My dad didn't talk much about his experience and with his passing in June 1993, all those memories were lost to my family.
I would love to know anything you can tell him about the experience if you were with him. His name was Frank O. Martin. He was stationed in Ft Bragg, NC when he was shipped over. He and my mom were 4 days away from getting married when he left and he didn't marry her. He didn't want her to be a war time bride. My mom has letters that my dad wrote to my grandfather asking him to take care of her because he didn't believe he would leave the country alive.
Your help in giving me this information would be great appreciated! I'm so excited about finding this site.

Comments: I was in Yanguu from 5/53 - 8/53 and worked teletype in the bunker at X Corps. I was transferred to Panmunjom in 8/53. I served under Capt.Skinner. I was there when the cease-fire was effected and I recall the sudden use of headlights on the vehicles instead of the blackout lights we'd become used to. Does anyone remember the AFKN radio programs? The Brooklyn born DJ who spun the country music?
