Comments: I was assigned to B co 51st Signal in 1970-71 and again in 76-77. During my first tour I was a 31M Radio Relay Carrier Attendant working at Cp Howze with 4 other B co members. We operated the AN/TRC 24 multi Chanel site at the very top of Cp Howze. We relayed through hill 651 and on to concord site above Camp Red Cloud.
Try to remember the names of the people I worked with, old brain (50 years ago) I have been diagnosed with bladder cancer, kidney cancer, lung cancer and soft tissue cancer.
Since B co did not issue orders for personnel that were sent out to the out sites I have no way to prove I was there except through buddy letters. I know something was sprayed around Cp Howze because I saw people with sprayers on the outside of the fence. So any help from anyone that was there would be appreciated.

Comments: Hello fellow veterans, been thinking about my year (1963-64) in Korea. I worked I Corp communications center at Camp Red Cloud first 6 months in country. Then as a motor messenger, the last 6 months, that's when the fun really began. My assigned driver, Kim Jun and I became really good friends, invited to his home many times to meet his wife and two children. Great food and fellowship, I was treated as a King. My younger brother served there in 1972/73, marrying a Korean woman, Kay, who is the best wife and mother that Richard could ever hope for. Richard and I are proud of our service to this great Nation, and we encourage our younger generations to serve, the rewards are great. I currently have 4 grandsons serving in the Army, let's pray for our troops and our Great Nation.

Our bn had a track and field event and I was in charge!!!! We were all amateurs. Finally since I was a pain in the butt, had served in the Marines on my first tour, I was sent off to lead a detachment in the mounts next to a KMAG outfit and KOK corps. We had a group of the best guys I ever served with. I recall one time our Spiral4 went out just as the flood crest hit the river. The bad connection was in the middle of the river. The crest brought the river up about 30 feet. As ldr, i was going to go out, but the sgt said I knew little so he would and did. I got out early to go back to college..

sister served and both of my niece and nephew are
currently serving. 3 of my uncles on my mothers side
served during WWII. One of those uncles went ashore
to Omaha beach on D-Day.

Most of the records, documents and other materials are
no longer in my aunts possession and I would like to
learn as much as I can about what my uncle Guido did
while in the service. Any information that you could
provide would be greatly appreciated. His serial #
