Comments: Seeking information on the assignments and travels of the the 3rd Corp., 3rd Infantry Division, 3rd Signal Corp and Donald Perry Robinson of West Virginia, my father, who served in the US Army from July 1949 (left Fort Benning, GA for Korea) and received his honorable discharge, and was thus separated on 15 Sep 1952 (Ft. Deven, Massachussetts) having spent 1 yr. 5 months and 15 days in foreign service - most of which was in Korea but we know he also spent some time in Japan. He belonged to the 3rd Corp., 3rd Infantry Division, 3rd Signal Corp. Since his records were destroyed in the fire of 1973 and we can't obtain any records of his service or assignments, ANY information on this signal corp. and/or their assignments/locations would be a wonderful gift for me (his daughter) and his namesake and son, my brother. Even if all you can do is point me in the direction of possibly available information, it will certainly be appreciated. Thanks.

and his military records were destroyed in a fire at the records
building in St. Louis many years ago. The letters we have describe
very little about what he did and he told us even less. He did have
a flight suit of sorts in his box of mementos and he had mentioned
something with helicopters.

He was from Chicago. If anyone has any information, has seen names
in letters, etc. I'd love to hear about it to piece together this

Comments: My grandfather Ed Carp, who died before I was born, served with the 3rd ID in Korea. He didn't talk about the war much before he died and I never knew him. I'm now a combat medic with the 1st Cavalry Division in Baghdad and I'd love to know more about my grandfather's wartime service. I know he was the commander of a mortar company, as my grandmother has a photo of him next to a sign reading "Ed Carp's Friendly Mortar Company."

If anyone remembers Captain Edward Carp, please contact me.
