I am looking for anyone who may have known my father, William Harrer. He was there from the spring of 1952 until Nov 27th 1952 when he stepped on a landmine and lost half a leg. He spent nearly 3 years in the hospital in San Francisso also. I would like to hear from anyone that may have known him at either location.

Comments: This to correct the date of PFC Willard A. Bazemore's disappearance or death. A field wireman (Hq and Hq Co), he was listed as MIA on Dec. 1, 1950. Army records indicate he was in a convoy that was stopped when an enemy road block south of Kunuri was stopped. A command to attempt to infiltrate by foot followed and Bazemore has not been located since.

Comments: Our family would like to hear from anyone who knew PFC/CPL Willard A. Bazemore, known to his family as Bogin. A native of Screven County, Georgia, he was MIA 12/01/1959. We think he worked in some area of communications -- his mother said he frequently "climbed poles" to his job. A now deceased buddy said he carried the seriously wounded Bazemore as far as possible but had to abandon him because Chinese soldiers were catching up with them. No further word of him has ever been received. Any help will be most appreciated.

Comments: REASON:
In a couple of the military Newsgroups we have this person claiming he was in "combat" and has "combat injuries".
He was in the above unit during 1969-1970.
His "combat" is apparently running a jeep into a mine-field.
He has posted a highly edited Article 15 involving Guardpost Beryl and states this "proves" he was in "combat".
When asked for documentation he claims his Commanding Officer destroyed all records: he refuses to come forth with a Purple Heart, etc., etc.
WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE the specific address to address a "Freedom of Information" and to alert the Unit what this person is stating about a Commanding Officer.
This person claims he has been "fighting VA" for thirty years to obtain "benefits" for his "combat injuries". . .
Any help that might permit us to contact the appropriate people to then initiate the proper request for information AND TO ALERT this person's former commanders as to the comments he is issuing, would be appreciated.
Thank you.
