Comments: Would like to hear from any shipmates from the units I was aboard. Would very much have a photo of that MIG hanging of the starboard wing of that P2V5F. Also are there any photos of the VP 42 aircraft the had damage done by that grenade that exploded under the aircraft during a photo run on a Russian trawler ?

Comments: First, thank you all for your service! My father, Sag Sagerholm, USN Lt (ret), flew as co-pilot and later pilot on PBM's in VP-42 during Korea and later in Alaska. Anyone who would like to contact him, his email is J35Racer@earthlink.net He is undergoing rehab for a knee operation (as of 4-08) but he's still ornery as ever. :) Mark Sagerholm - catchallfl@hotmail.com

Comments: I am trying to gather information about the air combat operations of USN squadrons in Korea. In case of VP-42 I am interested in any information on the encounters between a VP-42 a/c and MiG’s 11 May 1952. Any further info on this encounter, or others, first hand or not, would be helpful.

I was AT2 combat Intel on the "W's". The p2-v shot down on Nov-6-'51 was MY scheduled flight, BUT I was grounded the day B4. I'll share with you WHY, LATER. Lost good buddies on that flight. !! (my hobby and soon a new "IWasThere.com" his-ite ---Contributer Driven). You can Email me now to build up data... You (and I) have done ( or Witnessed) OTHER earth shaking events in the last 50 years... Short BIO's + "The Events" will be the best form to publish on the WEB and/or book form- including relatives/friends...PS: www.VPNAVY.com is a great site...I was also in vp40 ( or 42?) in PBM's
