I was sent to Korea as a heavy weapons infantry
soldier, but I was a carpenter in civilian life, so
was assigned to the engineers as a carpenter.
Shortly after arriving at my unit, I was made a radio

then, but I soon became proficient on the radio.
Would appreciate receiving emails from any of the

bridges the Group built in Korea. It tells about the
Kumwha Bridge that Co. B built under constant smoke
screen because it was under direct observation by the

Comments: A REALLY GREAT GROUP OS KOREAN WAR SITES. ALL OF YOUR EFFORTS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED.
I'm glad that I found the site. I have returned
to it many times looking for particular
information about the time frame I spent in Korea, (1950-51).
I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to view and make copies of the situation maps of that period.
Very often we were not aware of what the situation was on any given day or time period.
I appreciate the opportunity to list the date and location of the annual reunion of my unit, 62nd Engineer Construction Battalion. The U. S. Military History Institute is conducting a major survey project to acquire source material on the Korean War.
