Comments: i landed at pusan in january 1953 and was assigned to the 50th engineer port construction company my job was head of engineer maintenance. i was a corporal the water tower that held water for bathing had no motor to pump the water up to it so my first job was to fix a motor that would run out of four broken ones. i tore them apart and had them in buckets and as the guys passed by they would good natueredly kid me. it took over a week and at the end put the rebuilt motor in place and it ran beautifully. everyone came running with towels and soap and great big smiles. two weeks later i got promoted to staff sargeant. i was elected to be the president of our nco club but was then transferred to inchon. the company was assigned divers who were to help clean away some of the ships that were in the water leading into the tidal basin. the job of diver was very dangerous because of the 32 foot tide that came in and went out every 12 hours. the currents could be treacherous when the tide moved in or out. i worked on all the equipment belonging to the company. woul really like to hear from others who were there.

Comments: Searching for any information for my father, who served during the Korean Conflict. I have given his phone number and address above. He is also curious why nothing is mentioned about the 50th Engineer Port Construction Company.
Thank You
