Comments: Hello,
My dad William (Bill) Buhle was with the 1st Marine Division (Reinforced)1st Battalion, A Co., Wonsan to Bunker Hill 1950 to 1953.
His memory is very fuzzy. I am hoping to find someone that remembers him. He started out infantry, but because they had so many casualities, he got bumped up to a leader of sorts...SSgt, I believe.
I am looking for all the info I can get ,to document his footsteps really, and especially a buddy roster to give him, maybe some reunion news .
thanks and be sure to thank your soldier for me, I appreciate their sacrifices.
Kindest Regards,
Judy Brownlow

big brother to every one of us. In those days, it was not uncommon for
our mothers to send us to "Burton's little store" just before lunch or
supper to get "six thin slices of Blue Bell bologna... or a loaf of bread

he was feeling particularly silly, he'd "threaten" us young shopper /

Comments: Hello Ray thank you so much for cobtacting me, This is so Hard for me my Dad died on May 4th of this year of a Heart attack in my parents Drive way, This was unexpected since he had never had any Heart problems. I have always been a Daddy's Girl I am 43 years old now and I grieve every day for him I didn't even get to say goodbye to him my other 4 sisters did I lived farther away from the hospital and wasn't at home that day I was down the road helping someone I live in a rural area in Scottown, Ohio. I missed my dad by 5 mins. I have so many regrets right now one is that me and dad talked allot about sitting down and talking about his experiences in Korea. That didn't get to happen. My dad was 75 and worked up to the day he died at Sam's club he loved it. This is the hard part that might have added to his heart Attack. a Month before he passed away he found out that my Mom was Terminally ill and was dying from Renal Cell Carcinoma of the Kidney's. My parents were married 53 Years and raised 5 daughters. Getting back to the service. I ordered all of my Fathers enlistment papers from the Service and got them a week ago. What year was your dad in Korea and can you remember other's that was in your squadron. I have names of a few who served with Dad. Do you have a way to scan the pictures and email them to me you don't know how much I would appreciate it. Right now I could call you and give you more information on Dad and his times and dates in the service but I can't promise I won't cry. I feel like my daddy died yesterday. I break down crying sometimes when he is mentioned. I am crying now just hoping that you do know my dad and the pictures are of him. If it turns out he is the fuller then I have some pictures to share with you because I have pictures of him and his friends in the service that you may not have. If you would like to talk to me my Full name is Karen Leslie Fuller Dillon. I go by Leslie my email is kleslied@yahoo.com. I tried to email you back but the email came back as a failure. So I would appreciate if you could go ahead and email the pictures if you have them scanned or semd me an email and I will send you mt address thank you so much.
I also Live in Ohio. Getting back to my mom she is missing my Dad every Day and cry's every day still. Mom's cancer has spread to her lungs and her pelvis and it is in her bones and Bone marrow. She has went through Radiation to slow the cancer and also radiation to slow down the pain. She has lost 40 pounds and is moving slow but she is still trying to hang in there. The doctor gave her 6 months to 1 year to live and she had passed 8 months so far. It is very time sensitive on mom right now so if you do have pictures I would love to get a copy of them before she dies I really don't think she has much time left. You don't know how much this means to me. I am praying that you do know my Dad because I missed so much information about Korean and the war and I hope you will be able to tell me about it. If you end up that it isn't the right fuller. I would appreciate any stories or Information about the war any way that you can share with me that is if it isn't to hard for you to talk about it. If you can't talk about it maybe you can through email. Again thank you so so very much for contacting me.

Comments: My uncle is in a nursing home in Wisconsin and my hero. I am trying to get in touch with anyone that may have served with him, just to let him know that he is not alone and maybe he could talk or correspond to any of his "buddies" that knew him. This would mean an awful lot to him and me. Hoping to hear from someone...

I have copied excerpts from his letters hoping this will help someone. I would just like as much info as I can since I didn't get to know him.

Comments: Hello. I am trying to find out any information about where the 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Battalion, Weapons Company 2 was on March 15, 1951. Did it take part in Operation Ripper? Did anyone reading this know Sgt. Fred Boesiger? He was my father's first cousin and he is a family legend. I wore his old USMC jackets when I was a kid. No one seems to know how he was killed on March 15.
Thank you kindly.

Comments: Does anyone out there remember Sgt Major James Michael Garvey?
He was not too talkative about his times, however I did get out of him two facts:
1)that he was Sgt Major 1st Bn 1st Marines about 1948-49. He spent 30 years in the Corps and retired out of El Toro MAB as Major in 1966.
2)he was on the Oklahoma prior to 7 Dec 1941, went to Bremerton and shipped out on board the Maryland.
Jim passed away several years ago ... I miss him like hell and would like to know more about him. If anyone can shed any light, I would appreciate it immensely.
Thanks and Semper Fi ... Dan
