Comments: Seeking anyone who remembers my father, John Clifton Morrill, Sr., who served from 1952, out of New York, to 1962? He started basic out of New York and I know he was in Maine or Maryland in 1959, because I nearly died there of pneumonia. We then went on to Africa somewhere in there my sister, Donna Jean was born in Libya, Tripoli, in 1961. Dad was known to his friends as Scotty, because he was always borrowing money like a Scotsman.
He was in the USO, I believe, because he said he sang with Gary Van Dyke, brother to the infamous, Jerry. His best friend was Bill, William Anderton, who had a son by the name of David.
David and I were around the same age. As of 2016, I am currently 59.
Unfortunately, my father John, died November 7, 2011, of pneumonia and complications, in Chico, Ca. He was buried in Warrensburg, MO. Dad drove a Moris Miner. I think it was yellow with what appears to be wood grain paneling around the sides. This is all by memory, I don't have the films he and mother, Jean Darlene Pringle Morrill, made but I get flashes of the scenes. We are at a church and I see us getting into the vehicle. Also remember an old trailer park with single wide trailers a lot of them. We lived next door to the Anderton's then.
If you were with my dad in the time of service, I would be anxious to talk with you. Or, if you were one of the many children who were there while our fathers were in the Korean War; we should all get together and celebrate the memories of our fathers and mothers who served the U.S. so well. We should celebrate their gift of life so that we and others could live freely!

Keywords: Dads nickname was Scotty. He was tall 5'11', white male, about 130 pounds, very skinny, and black hair, brown eyes. John Morrill was in Supply, he said! He got out in 1963 on a hardship, because he had 4 children at the time and just could no longer afford to feed us. He went on to San Jose, California, and joined the US Postal Service as a Carrier until around 1974.
He then joined the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office as an account auditor, for the Family Support Division. I joined him a year or two later.
When he returned from Africa, he started a Country Western Band, called the Blue Jays. They recorded one record to which I and my older brother, John Junior, sang backup. The song was Five Hundred Miles.
Mr. Gary Van Dyke, if you could contact me, I would love to hear about your performances with my dad. I've always wondered what his singing history was while in the military. I also loved singing with daddy.
Thanks to all!

Comments: I'm looking for any info or pictures of my grandfather. His name was Robert Edward McKee. He was in the 90th bomber group based out of kusuhn air base. He recently passed away and I'm looking for any pictures, paper work or anything related to his service. We have found a lot so far but are sure there are pictures floating around of him in flight. I've heard that he was either a navigator or engineer on the crew. Any info or pictures is greatly appreciated.

Keywords: He went by Bob. I'm not sure if he acquired any nicknames while in the service.
