Unit: 6313TH AIR POLICE SQ, KADENA AB, OKINAWA

Service or Relationship: Air Force Veteran

Comments: I am trying to write my memoir and want to mention what I had heard was the origins of the first Air Police unit I was assigned to in my 23 yr AF career.

Keywords: As a young enlisted member fresh from Air Police School, I was sent directly overseas to Kadena in 1961,I was assigned to the 6313th APS.....in our dayroom was a glass case with pictures and flags etc; from the 6314th APS in Korea during the war. We were told that this unit was attacked at their base in
Korea and suffered many casualties and kia(s).To the extend that the Unit Colors were retired and redesignated when the ABS came to Okinawa, does anyone know the facts of this units history?
