Comments: Looking for any information on my Uncle, 1Lt Howard Benton Onley from Sherman Texas, who (I think) flew with the 17th out of K-9, Pusan East. His Korean tour would have been from about July 1952 to 21 Feb. 1953. He was a B-17 pilot in WW2 with the 305th BG, 422 BS. He remained in the Reserves and was a A/B-26 flight instructor at Perrin Field (outside Sherman) until he was recalled. He survived Korea. Thanks. Joe

Comments: I missed Christmas dinner at Miho on Dec. 25, 1954. I had ridden a third class (wooden seats) train all night, returning from TDY at 5th Air Force Headquarters in Nagoya to have Christmas dinner with T/Sgt. and Mrs. Homer Scheirer. The good time with them was worth to discomfort of the train trip.
I was editor of the base newspaper Knight Life at K-9 in 1954. I was reassigned as wing historian but remained as assistant editor of the newspaper. My historical reports were classified secret and filed with 5th Air Force Headquarters. Prior to the wing's redeployment to Hurlburt Field in 1955, I wrote a non-classified history of the wing, including the WWII vintage 17th Bomb Group, which was published in Knight Life. I have that issue and several others. Also I have a small collection of photos shot at K-9 and Miho. I will be happy to share copies with anyone who is interested.

Comments: Maurice A Shea, Master Sargent USAF (ret) passed away November 9, 2014. As with many children (60 years old plus) we are finding treasures. His initial orders to Korea were December 1953, and he returned to the ZI aboard the USNS O'Hara in February 1955. I've found the Christmas Dinner menu from Miho Air Base, December 25, 1954, a Thursday like this year. A pamphlet The Ship I Sailed On U.S. Naval Ship James O'Hara, and pages of orders, assignments, reassignments, etc. I am in the process of of scanning the documents, but find I cannot e-mail them because of size. If anyone would be interested in images of the documents, please let me know, where I can send a CD. I hope someone might want to find out details about places long ago.
Thanks,

My father was in the Kings Own Lancashire Fusiliers. He was from Liverpool. I would like anyone who knows of a Ralph Powell, with details of his Korean War history, and I would return the object to the family. The time in question is 1953-54 or there about. The story is about a tombstone that was displaced and collected by the City of High Point, North Carolina. After storing it for 6 months and unsuccessfully researching Airman Brown, the City was forced to send the tombstone to an auction company. If anyone knows anything about A2C James Harold Brown, feel free to contact me and I'll forward your comments to the city.
