He then went to Camp Gordon for more training and attended Southheastern Signal School, part of the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was stationed in Korea at I-Corps outside of Uijonbu Korea in the Jackson VHF and provided I-Corps with radio telephone service. He was there until he went home in 1956. He doesn't remember anybody's names really except a Master Sergeant Cook and maybe a Cavanaugh. He was hospitalized at Camp Gordon in 1954, but all of their records have been destroyed. I am trying to help him prove that he was even in the Army since the records were destroyed by a fire in Saint Louis, MO. All of his personal information he had was also destroyed in a house fire. We would like to have proof and don't know how to get it so he can be officially recognized by our country and might be able to get some medical benefits as well. Thanks for looking

Comments: Dear Alumni: 03-11-2009
I joined the 51st Signal Bn in Jan, 1951. The headquarters wind up in Uijongbu. I was in R and M Co., Radio platoon. When I got there we had several SCR 196 and SCR 399. I was a high speed radio operator. Just before I left we got our 399's replaced by ANGR 26's.
I have been a member of our Alumni Asso. since 1998. We have annual reunions. The up coming Reunion will be at Ft. Gordon, GA/ Augusta, GA. I talked to our host, Ltc Joe Tragaski yesterday. He has all the events lined up, but we were waiting for the dates for the Signal Corp Ball.
Everything is all set.
Our web site: www2.itexas.net/tom
Our Alumni Asso is supported and sponsored by: Col John Baker, CO 35th Signal Brigade, Ft. Gordon, GA
and by Ltc Paul Fredenburgh, CO 51st Signal Bn, Ft. Lewis, Ft Lewis, WA/ Iraq.
The 51st Signal is in Iraq as you read this message, they will be back to Ft. Lewis, WA, late this year.
I will be sending a News Letter this week, about the 2009 Reunion.
I see all these flags in people's yards. They say we support our troops, but do they really support the physically.
The way I see it is if you want to show support, go visit with the troop. Tell then in person that you support them.
The easiest way to show your support is the make plans to attend our 2009 Reunion at Ft. Gordon, GA.

The dates will be June 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th, 2009.
Put these dates aside.
You will not only get the chance to meet with the troops and officers, but to talk with them and break bread with them.
We will meet with each company and have the chance to tell them your experiences and hear theirs.
Last year many of the Alumni brought pictures and tools that they used during their service.

2009 Reunion
June 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th
The 51st Signal Bn was been deployed to Iraq. They left Ft. Lewis in August, 2008. They will not be back till later this year. We have received several News Letters from Iraq. If you have access to the internet, go to www2.itexas.net/tom to read them.
As they will be out of the country, we have been invited, by Col John W, Baker, CO, 35th Signal Brigade to come to Ft. Gordon, GA. He has asked Ltc Joe Tragaski, CO, 67th Signal Bn. to host our Reunion. I was able to meet with Col Baker and Ltc Tragaski earlier this year at Ft. Gordon. Ltc Tragaski has gone to a lot of trouble to help us out, so I want all you people to make a special effort to attend. There will be two day of non-stop activities planned by Ltc Tragaski and his staff. There will be good food and fun for all. If it is possible for you to bring either pictures or tools you used while serving with the 51st, , be sure to bring them. We will have one evening at our hotel and two evenings a Ft. Gordon. Part of our visit will be a Signal Corp Ball. If you have never seen one, it will be an experience of a life time to see all the fine young people turned out in their Dress Blue Uniforms. There will be several important ceremonies taking place there.
Augusta, GA is a large city with many thing to see, so you may want to make our Reunion a Family thing. I-20 goes right through town and our hotel is just one block south off I-20 at exit 194.
Editor note: P-2 Para-2 L-3, should read without a hitch, sorry.

LTC Joe Tragakis, Commanding Officer,
