Comments: At the height of Tet offensive in Vietnam, I was assigned to S. Korea. My MOS after basic trained me for being a Petroleum Specialist. Just before arriving in Korea, 8th Army was ramping up defenses, including beefing up trained personnel in the 121st Evac Hospital in ASCOM city, near Bupyong. My MOS was changed via OJT and I became a Lab Tech, working first in Pathology, assisting in autopsies, then all the stations in the lab specializing in doing blood/serum analysis and blood banking. My wife came a few months after I arrived and we rented space in the home of a local Korean family. We made many friends, both GI and civilian. Korea left me with many fond memories.

Her given name was Barbara Santiago and my mother's name was Chin Su, possibly Chin Su Chan but the surname is of Chinese descent so I'm not sure if my Dad has the correct name. My sister and I were put into a Catholic orphanage in Seoul a few years later & my Dad was stationed in the States & only learned of this before we were to be adopted. My sister was adopted before he could reunite with her but I was able to join him in the States. So now we are searching for my sister, we have not had any luck in years, and I'm hoping to find anything to help us. Thank you.

In fact you could see them both up on the hill if you were standing outside of the dispensary. I heard that the name of the hotel has been changed to the Paradise Hotel and the casino has closed and moved to another hotel. I remember being in a large room all by myself and after several weeks when I was allowed to leave I went down the longest hallway I have ever seen in my life, longer than the old hospital at Fort Carson, CO. I was handed my records and hand carried them to the medic at Camp Casey and that was the last time I saw them. There is no record of this in my military medical records and I'm wondering if there is a duplicate somewhere in the hospital. I think I was at the 121st.
