| ANTHONY GOMEZ wrote on April 7, 2011 CITY AND STATE: PRAIRIEVILLE LA UNIT: 101ST ABN DIV (AASLT) SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: ARMY VETERAN Comments: Was just visiting and realized my contact info needed to be updated. Hope there are still a few out there that may remember my father. For those who have gone before us... I asked God for strength, that I might achieve, I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.... I asked for health, that I might do greater things, I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.... I asked for riches, that I might be happy, I was given poverty, that I might be wise.... I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men, I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God.... I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life, I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.... I got nothing that I asked for - but everything that I had hoped for, Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am among all men most richly blessed. INFORMATION AND CONTACT. |
| GRACE POCOCK wrote on January 9, 2011 CITY AND STATE: UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: OTHER Comments: Hello, I'd be very interested to hear from anyone actually stationed in Korea for the duration of the Korean War, or those who had much involvement with Korea in the years directly after, specifically pertaining to orphanages and refugee camps. I'm currently researching a novel set across the years the war took place and those directly after, and would be incredibly grateful if anyone would be kind enough to contact me with any information they may have. If anyone has any experiences or memoirs they should be kind enough to let me read, or even enter into direct e-mail correspondence with me, that would be fantastic. Through this research I've become very interested personally in the people that lived through this conflict, so even if you don't think your input would be of much use or interest to me, I can assure you it most certainly would! Thanks, Grace Keywords: 8076th MASH, Korea, Nurses, Surgeon, Corpsman, MP's, Red Cross. |

LT MARY I. COUCH, USA |
| ROBERT ACKERMAN wrote on October 2, 2009 CITY AND STATE: UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: AIR FORCE VETERAN Comments: I thought if fitting to post on here, in memory of my mother, Mary Ida Couch, who served as a nurse in the 8076th MASH during the winter of 50. She said she was with the "second" group of nurses to go over. She didn't speak often of her service, but I know she was proud to have served. She passed away over a year ago now, a few weeks before her 85th birthday. I am now the proud caretaker of her army cap, her captain's bars, and her United Nations Korean Service medal, with 4 battle stars, and treasured memories of the stories she did tell. How many men came home because of her service, and the service of those like her? God bless you all from the proud son of and Army Nurse. Some may forget, but I never will. Keywords: 8076 MASH |
