Lt Mary I. Couch, USA

Comments: I thought if fitting to post on here, in memory of my mother, Mary Ida Couch, who served as a nurse in the 8076th MASH during the winter of 50. She said she was with the "second" group of nurses to go over. She didn't speak often of her service, but I know she was proud to have served.

She passed away over a year ago now, a few weeks before her 85th birthday. I am now the proud caretaker of her army cap, her captain's bars, and her United Nations Korean Service medal, with 4 battle stars, and treasured memories of the stories she did tell.

How many men came home because of her service, and the service of those like her? God bless you all from the proud son of and Army Nurse. Some may forget, but I never will.

Comments: I went over into the Air Force and spent most of my time as a surgical tech.. Promotions got me in the admin part of Medics then became a Senior Enlisted Advisor after promotion to E-9. Retired at Reese AFB, Texas. Last heard from Capt John Rowbotham, Chief of Surgery, a couple of years ago.. In a retirement home in New Hampshire. Would like to hear from others if still around. Saw my name in MASH history.

Info on Father

Comments: My father, Jim Fisher, was assigned to 8076 MASH as corpsman and M.P. I believe he was their from 1950 to 1952. He didn't speak much of his time in Korea. Anyone out there know him?

Was a member 1950-1951

Comments: Was recalled (ERC) 1950 and assigned to 8076th MASH, 12/'50...on a troop train two weeks up and down hunting for 8076th MASH. Was assisgned as Sgt.Major (Radar's position) Cleaned up Hdqrs paper-work and assigned myself to night duty working pre-op and Xray during heavy influx of wounded. One friend was named Arthur, wife Daisy (a nurse)- lived in Philadelphia PA. Would love to see him again...he might recall more history than I remember.

Comments: I'm looking for anyone who might remember my father. His name was William W Clatyon. I dont now much about his time there other then he was driver for a MASH8076th he was there around 1950-1952. I have a few pictures of some of the people there.He was sent home on a medical discharge. He has past away and I would like to find out more information? I have no idea where to begin my search? My father never talked about those days and upon coming across these pictures I wonder what his life was like there. thank you for any help in this matter.

Comments: um..my grandfather,Monroe Buckner, was a surgical tech at the 8076th, and i was wondering if anyone would be interested in also helping me with my paper on MASH units in the Korean War and how they are/were affected by the wounded and their training and such..it would really help me if anyone is willing to answer just a few questions....it would be a great help it i can get a surgeon or nurse to answer most, because i would like to know how you guys (and gals) were affected most...it would be a great help, and i would really apprieciate it...Thank You
