Comments: To begin I must apologize for my lack of much
knowledge in this area, but let me also say with
tremendous gratitude how much I appreciate your
sacrifices for freedom and America.

My uncle, Wayne E. Frisbey, USMC was a proud
member of the Frozen Chosen. He never spoke much
about his experiences in Korea, possibly because
he did not want to relive the pain he and all of
you experienced. I suspect also he chose not to
discuss his experiences much was because he was a
man who chose to be happy, positive, and
lighthearted. I can remember one incident in
particular when I was a young teen he spoke some
of his experiences, but being the practical joker
he was, I wasn't certain if he was having fun at
my expense oe telling me the truth, which later I
learned it was fact.

Ufortunately, Wayne had his final taps on

Comments: USMC January 1951--February 1954. Boot Camp at Parris Island. Combat infrantry training at Camp Pendleton. Departed San Diego with the 12th replacement unit on USS General M.C. Meigs, Aug. 15, 1951. Arrived Pusan, South Korea, about Aug. 30 or 31, following one night stop in Kobe, Japan.

Departed Inchon on trip home, about Aug. 15, 1952. Attached to 3rd Marine Air Wing, OpaLocka,FL for remainder of enlistment.

Keywords: 11th Regiment, 1st Marine Division, September-December 1951. Attached to USMC advisory groups for the Korean Marine artillery and then the Korean Marine infantry units between January and August 1952. Served as a telephone combat wireman for the entire year in Korea.

MY FATHER REALLY WANTS TO FORGET THAT TIME OF HIS LIFE, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO KNEW MY DAD DURING THAT TIME. One of the first marines in Korea. 11th marine art bat. Radio Operator. June to Dec.
Was sent home because of Frozen Feet (Chosen Res.)

Looking for a another Marine in my outfit also another radio operator.

His name is Gerald Jackson he helped me a lot to get to a hospital. Carried me from the bottom of an LST, up ladders to the main deck.

Then to a MASH unit because I could not walk.
